ATTENTION

Workshops will be held completely online and are no longer at the 2026 FMTPHM. Instead, there will be a FWC Open House where you can ask questions to FWC and FWRI staff. Register for this event using the link below. This event is FREE to attend, as long as you are registered for the Saturday meeting.

The FWC Marine Turtle Programs invite principal permit holders and their personnel to attend our new FWC Open House at the 2026 Permit Holder Meeting. The FWC Open House will last 2 hours and will be held from 3-5 PM on February 27th, 2026. FWC staff will be stationed at topic-specific tables and will be available to answer your questions!  Our Sea Turtle Stranding and Salvage Program can answer questions on topics such as measuring, PIT tag scanning, general stranding protocol, tagged turtles, the stranding database, gear entanglements, the new e-learning course, and will also have a table dedicated to species ID with carapaces and skulls. Our Nesting Program can answer questions on topics such as the nesting app and data entry, general survey protocols, species ID, and rare species documentation. Additionally, staff from FWC's ISM Program will be available to discuss permitting, artificial lighting, disorientation and obstructed nesting attempt reporting, Gulf coast nest productivity, pier captures, the new marine turtle permit system, and much more.
