The FWC Fish and Wildlife Research Institute's Sea Turtle Stranding and Salvage Program invites principal permit holders and their volunteers to attend a sea turtle stranding workshop conducted by FWC at the 2025 Permit Holder Meeting. The training session will last about 3 hours and will cover everything you need to know about how to respond to sea turtle strandings, species identification, the importance of stranding data, and how to fill out the data forms.
Nesting Workshop and Nesting App Open House

The FWC Fish and Wildlife Research Institute's Marine Turtle Program invites principal permit holders and their volunteers to attend the annual in-person training workshop. The workshop is an opportunity to introduce and review standards for surveying Florida beaches for sea turtle nesting activity. The workshop will cover survey methodology, species identification, crawl identification, and data reporting requirements for the Statewide Nesting Beach Survey (SNBS), Index Nesting Beach Survey (INBS) and Nest Productivity Assessment (NPA) programs as well as an overview of the FWC nesting app to use for reporting 2025 NPA data. The workshop will satisfy the annual training requirement; the same workshop will be offered via webinars in the spring.
